Terms of Service

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These terms cover your use of offhand (the app) and this website. By downloading, installing, or using offhand, you agree to them.

The app

offhand is a launcher and app-limiting tool for Android and iOS. On Android it replaces your home screen; on iOS it runs as a separate screen, since Apple does not allow a third-party app to replace the home screen outright. You control which apps are limited, how strict each limit is, and the unlock rules (a five-second delay by default, with up to three five-minute unlocks a week if you turn that on). Some limits you configure as hard blocks with no override — that’s a setting you choose, not a restriction we impose on you.

Purchase and payment

offhand is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment is processed by Apple or Google directly; refunds are handled under their respective store policies, not directly by us, since we don’t have access to process a refund ourselves.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app outside the App Store or Google Play, and not to use it in a way that violates the terms of either store.

No warranty

offhand is provided as-is. We work to keep it reliable, but we don’t guarantee it will be error-free or that it will meet every use case — in particular, it’s a tool for reducing phone use, not a substitute for professional support if you’re dealing with something more serious than habit.

Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app (including via automatic updates) and these terms over time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected here with an updated date above.
